Calculate your earnings from a battery system
Select application and number of modules, and get an indicative estimate of investment, annual earnings, and payback period in seconds — based on Meganet’s own PowerCombo systems and real DK1 market data.
This is what your business case looks like
Choose whether the system should be used for arbitrage, ancillary services, or a hybrid of both, and how many modules you need. The calculation is indicative and based on a general price that applies to most projects — the final investment depends on your specific installation conditions and will be determined in a personalized quote.
I alt: 1.000 kW / 2.315 kWh

About the calculator
Is the calculation binding?
No. This is an indicative estimate based on a general price per module and actual market figures for system services and arbitrage. The final investment and earnings are always determined in a specific, personalized quote following a review of your grid connection and consumption.
Where do the numbers in the calculator come from?
The investment figures are based on Meganet’s own PowerCombo battery packs (1,000 kW / 2,315 kWh per module, the same type as at our own Baldersvej facility). The earnings for system services and hybrid operation are based on a historical aFRR/mFRR/FCR operational simulation for a 2 MW/9.2 MWh facility in DK2 using actual capacity and activation prices, scaling linearly with the power (MW) that the facility can actually bid — not solely by the number of modules or kWh. The arbitrage figures are based on actual DK1 spot price data. Please see the Spot Arbitrage page for full market data.
What is the difference between arbitrage, ancillary services, and hybrid?
Arbitrage involves buying electricity cheaply and selling it at a high price on the spot market. System services (FCR, FCR-D, aFRR, mFRR) pay for availability and rapid response to Energinet and typically provide both higher and more stable earnings — our simulation shows that a 2 MW bid earns exactly twice as much as a 1 MW bid under the same strategy. Hybrid combines system services as the primary income with an additional layer of arbitrage on the capacity that is otherwise idle — and usually provides the best overall return.
Why does the calculator ask for my main fuse (amperes)?
The main fuse sets a physical limit on how much power (kW) the system can offer to the market — and since earnings scale with the power that can actually be offered, the calculator uses your main fuse to adjust the indicative result if it is lower than the total power of the installed modules. The investment is still calculated based on the full installed system. The final grid connection is always confirmed by an electrician.
Can I add solar panels later?
Yes. The solar cell component always requires a specific assessment of the roof or area and is therefore not included in the calculation itself — but please indicate your interest, and our advisor will include it in the quote.
What happens when I submit the form?
Your inquiry, along with your calculation results and selected application, will be sent directly to our sales team. A consultant will typically contact you within a few business days with a concrete offer.
Does a battery alone qualify for a government subsidy?
No — the grant from the Danish Road Directorate’s charging station pool requires that the project includes a publicly accessible charging station, as in our Dual Asset case. Select the charging station in the calculator to see the effect, regardless of which application (arbitrage, system services, or hybrid) you choose.
