The solar park periodically produced more power than the grid connection could accommodate, which led to curtailment and lost revenue during hours of high solar irradiance and low spot prices.
Solution
Meganet added a battery storage system to the same grid connection. Surplus production that would otherwise be curtailed is instead stored in the battery and sold later when the spot price is higher.
Result
The park's production is now being fully utilized. Instead of losing revenue due to curtailment, surplus production is converted into sales during high-price periods — increasing the park's total earnings per installed kWp.
